Chapter 14

Matt

Stevie looked so hot and delicious in the passenger seat of my car. Her simple white cotton tank top made me rock hard. Her tight jean shorts clung to her juicy thighs where my hand rested between her legs. Being out and about with her in public, doing the things couples do, filled me with contentment.

She fiddled with her silver necklace. I couldn’t see the pendant, but she was contemplative as she stared out the window, watching the shoreline pass as we drove. Did it mean something to her, or was it just a necklace she really liked?

“Do you prefer silver jewelry over gold?” I asked.

She looked down at her necklace and smiled. “Not particularly. I like either. I love this necklace because my grandma gave it to me before she passed. It’s an emerald.” She showed it to me.

The green glinted in the fading sunset as silver surrounded it in an intricate-looking cage. “It’s beautiful,” I said.

She smiled. “Thank you. Her favorite was silver, so she had many pieces she passed down to the women in the family.”

I caressed her thigh. She stared at me for a long moment, but my eyes returned to the road. “Where am I turning?”

“Oh, up ahead. You’ll see the sign for mahi – you can’t miss it.”

I drove further down the road until I saw the sign. Faded large red letters on a white backdrop claimed Bert’s to be the Home of the Best Fish Tacos Ever, Anywhere, Anytime. That was a mighty big claim - one I hoped they would live up to.

I turned into the small lot, noticing how close we were to the water – the fish could almost jump into the frying pan by themselves. The crashing waves filtered in through my consciousness as we got out and walked toward the small restaurant.

It was a large shack open on three sides, with the inside decorated much like I would expect a fish taco stand to look like. Bright pastel-painted walls with sea-inspired art, mismatched furniture, and handwritten chalkboard menus spelled out the taco of the day, along with featured local brews. The result was a lively, casual, and welcoming ambiance. Stress was not welcomed.

Stevie asked for outdoor seating and quickly brought us to the back. I hadn’t been anywhere this inexpensive in a while.

The sun still descended in the sky as the host set down our menus. I quickly pulled Stevie’s chair for her, and she smiled before lowering onto her seat. The host disappeared, and we settled into the harsh metal. The wind blew her hair around her face, and she took a hair tie out of her purse and tied it back. I watched her, mesmerized by all the skin on display, as she bit her lip and opened her menu.

“I know I’ve said this to you a lot – but I mean it! You are so fucking beautiful. You take my breath away,” I said, taking her hand on the tabletop.

She eyed me. “How many
